After graduating from Tunku Abdul Rahman College (TARC) with a Diploma in Technology (Building) and a Certificate in Quantity Surveying, I worked as a Senior Quantity Surveyor at Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. Some of my key achievements are on projects with Majlis Bandaraya Kota Kinabalu and Majlis Daerah Tawau.
In order to gain more international exposure, I decided to take up a Procurement Manager role based in the Middle East. From 2007-2011, I worked in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Qatar, and Bahrain, where I was involved in a number of mega projects, including the Abu Dhabi F1 circuit race track, the Dubai Racecourse, and Ministry of Interior building in Qatar. In the meantime, I also took the opportunity to do a lot of travelling while I was there.
I returned to Malaysia in 2012 as a Senior Contract Manager with a developer firm in my hometown, Alor Setar. It was while I was planning for my retirement that I came across the financial planning career path. I love travelling and this career allows me to do so with a passive income stream and time flexibility. Meanwhile, I can also help many families learn proper financial planning & guide them towards a happier family life.
I chose this career because I believe that financial planning will enable me to achieve my life goals which is to travel to as many countries as possible. On top of the monetary rewards, I'm also able to spend more time on myself to do what I really want in my life.
